The Race Report

Making Data Accessible

SOS UK needed a digital platform to host annual reports on racial equity data—information that's crucial for accountability but often buried in dense PDFs. The challenge was transforming static reports into an accessible, engaging web experience that would encourage exploration rather than downloads and abandonment.

Visual Identity

Working with Studio Sana's branding, we developed the website to reflect a clean, data-focused aesthetic that prioritizes clarity and accessibility. The design needed to feel authoritative enough for policy researchers while remaining approachable for community organizations and the public.

Technical Approach

I built the site in Webflow, implementing a robust CMS that allows SOS UK to upload annual reports without technical expertise. The key innovation was automatic data visualization - when reports are added to the CMS, the system generates dynamic bar charts and other visualizations directly from the data, eliminating the need for manual graphic creation.

This automation serves two purposes: it dramatically reduces the administrative burden of maintaining the site, and it ensures data is presented consistently and accessibly year over year.

Outcome

Race Report transforms what could have been a static document repository into an interactive data resource. By reducing friction in both content management and user experience, the platform makes racial equity data genuinely accessible—not just technically available.
